Today, the integrity of the Hwange elephant corridors is threatened by Mopani charcoal production. Mopani forests make up the biodiversity and elephant corridors of Hwange. Lack of economic activity, jobs, opportunities and sustainability in rural communities living close to Hwange National Park and Victoria falls are leaving rural communities with no option but to destroy the Mopani forests for sustainability. We want to save the Mopani forests and elephant corridors of Hwange District by bringing rural communities into the tourism industry around them. They are becoming stakeholders of the tourism industry around them, and we want to bring new life changing skills like photography, art skills ,landscaping skills, thatching ,building skills etc. Our plan is to build a craft centre in the village for skills share and platform to showcase their skills. We already have a site for the craft centre. This donation would be channeled to moving rural communities from Mopani charcoal production, wildlife snaring and veld fire hunting to life time skills. We have cycled across the country to highlight the issue and we want to implement home grown solutions to the local problem. The destruction of the elephant corridors is directly resulting in increased human wildlife conflict, veld fires, flashfloods and loss of the biodiversity in Hwange.

Lanyula Cultural Village offers all of these unique and idyllic cultural experiences.
